Dates checked against each agency's schedule on 2026-10-27. Agencies can move a release; the official page always wins. "—" means the bank has no fixed announcement time.
What each release usually means
- US CPI inflation (Bureau of Labor Statistics): Consumer prices. Inflation above what markets expect tends to lift US yields and the dollar and weigh on gold and stocks; a lower number usually does the opposite.
- US jobs report (non-farm payrolls) (Bureau of Labor Statistics): Jobs added and the unemployment rate. Often the biggest move of the month in the dollar, gold and US indices.
- US PPI (producer prices) (Bureau of Labor Statistics): Prices that producers receive; an early hint of where consumer inflation is heading.
- US JOLTS job openings (Bureau of Labor Statistics): Open jobs and quits: how tight the labour market is, which shapes wage growth and the Fed's view.
- US GDP (Bureau of Economic Analysis): The size and growth of the economy. The first (advance) estimate moves markets most; later ones revise it.
- US PCE inflation (personal income and outlays) (Bureau of Economic Analysis): The Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure, released with income and spending.
- US trade balance (Bureau of Economic Analysis): Exports minus imports of goods and services; it rarely moves markets on its own.
- US 10-year Treasury auction (US Treasury): Demand for US government debt. A weak auction can push yields up and spill into the dollar and gold.
- US 30-year Treasury auction (US Treasury): Demand for long-term US debt; watched for what it says about long-term yields.
- US 2-year Treasury auction (US Treasury): Demand for short-term US debt, closely tied to where markets expect the Fed's rate.
- US crude oil inventories (EIA weekly report) (Energy Information Administration): Weekly US crude and fuel stocks. A bigger build than usual tends to weigh on oil; a draw supports it.
- Central bank decisions: The interest rate decision and the statement. A surprise, or a change in the tone about future moves, is usually the biggest event of the month for that currency. Current rates: central bank interest rates.
Using the calendar
Check the week ahead every Monday. Around high-impact releases spreads widen and price can jump through stop losses, so many traders close or reduce trades before the release or wait 15 to 30 minutes after it. Read what happened in our forex and gold news, see how big traders are positioned in the COT report this week, and see the trading sessions in your own time with the sessions and killzones clock or the forex market hours for your country.
Questions
Where do these dates come from?
Only from the official schedules: the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the US Treasury, the Energy Information Administration and each central bank's own calendar. Every row links to its source.
Why are there no forecasts or actual numbers?
Consensus forecasts belong to the companies that collect them. We show when each release comes out, who publishes it and what it usually moves; read the number itself on the agency's page as soon as it is out.
Which events move gold and the dollar most?
The US jobs report, CPI, PCE and Fed decisions. Expect wider spreads and fast moves around them.
Are the times right after the clocks change?
Yes. Each release is stored in the agency's own local time and converted with the official time zone rules, so summer time in the US and Europe is handled for every date.
Why does the Bank of Japan or SBP row show no time?
They announce on the meeting day without a fixed clock time; we show the day only.
