Questions

Why is this gold price different from my broker's?

Every broker quotes its own bid and ask, with its own spread, and this page is updated once an hour from a demo feed. Use it to see the day's range and sessions, and your own platform for trading.

When does gold move the most?

Usually in the London morning and the New York session (London 07-12 UTC, New York 12-17 UTC). The session table shows today's ranges so far; the volatility page shows the 20-day averages.

What is the difference between XAUUSD and COMEX gold futures?

XAUUSD is the spot price of one ounce in US dollars, traded as a CFD at brokers. COMEX gold futures (GC) are exchange contracts of 100 ounces; their positioning is in the weekly COT report.
