US stock screener: momentum and volatility
Popular US stocks ranked by momentum, with their 1, 5 and 20-day change, average daily range and 50-day trend. Sort by any column.
How to read it
Example: a stock with +12 % over 20 days, a momentum rank of 95 and "Above" its 50-day average is in one of its strongest runs of the year; an average daily range of 3 % means a normal day moves it about 3 % from high to low, so a stop much tighter than that is easily hit.
Questions
What does the screener show?
For each US stock: the change over 1, 5 and 20 trading days, the average daily range in %, a momentum rank (0-100: where the 20-day change sits among the last year's) and whether it is above its 50-day average.
How do I use the momentum rank?
Above 80 means the stock's last month was one of its strongest of the year; below 20 one of its weakest. Strong momentum can continue, but it is also where late buyers get trapped: use it to find candidates, then read the chart.
